sold out

Rock Clay welcomes you to an Introduction to Wheel-Throwing class on Wednesday evenings with Danielle Robertson.

Danielle will teach you to turn a simple ball of clay into a functional or sculptural object- both on the potters’ wheel and by hand. Glazing/surface design will also be covered during this session.

This class is great for beginners, experienced potters, and all those in between!

Danielle (Kotopoulis) Roberton is an artist and educator specializing in ceramics and metalwork/jewelry making. She holds a BA in Fine Arts Education from Montclair State University and an MA in Fine Arts Education / Studio Ceramics from Kean University.

In addition to her full-time career teaching art at Ramsey High School, Danielle has designed and implemented new ceramics programs at both Camp Ramaquois and Gate Hill Day Camp. She has also taught diverse art courses at institutions like the Montclair and Hunterdon Art Museums, engaging students of all ages.

Beyond teaching, Danielle actively creates and exhibits her artwork, contributing to several art exhibitions over the years. Her dedication to both artmaking and education underscores her commitment to fostering creativity and sharing her passion for the arts.

Students have access to the studio to come in and practice whenever they want for the duration of the course. Clay and glazes are included. Firing fees are charged separately: $0.05 per cubic. Sales tax not included.

While we do not officially offer make-up classes you are welcome to join one of the other classes if there is room.

Cancellation with a full refund is allowed up until a week before the class starts and a 50% refund if canceled the week of the start of class.
There are no refunds once the class session has started.

This class is open to all aged 13 years old and up.
