Introduction to Wheel-Throwing Wednesday with Danielle 6:00 pm–8:30 pm / 8 sessions Starting September 3

$485.00

Rock Clay welcomes you to an Introduction to Wheel-Throwing class on Wednesday evenings with Danielle Robertson.

In this class, Danielle will guide you through transforming a simple ball of clay into functional or sculptural pieces, both on the pottery wheel and by hand. You’ll learn foundational wheel throwing techniques, as well as handbuilding methods like pinch pots, coiling, and slab-building which allow for endless creativity and experimentation.

Glazing/surface design will also be covered during this session.

This class is great for beginners, experienced potters, and all those in between!

Danielle Robertson is an artist and art educator specializing in ceramics and metalwork. She holds a BA and MA in Fine Arts Education from Montclair State and Kean University. Danielle teaches full-time at Ramsey High School and has worked for various summer camps and art institutions, including the Montclair Art Museum. She currently teaches adult pottery classes at Rock Clay while continuing to exhibit and sell her work.

In addition to class time, students may come in and practice whenever they want for the duration of the course. Clay and glazes are included. Firing fees are charged separately: $0.05 per cubic inch. (Sales tax not included.)

While we do not officially offer make-up classes, you are welcome to join one of the other classes if there is room.

Cancellation with a full refund is allowed up until a week before the class starts and a 50% refund if canceled the week of the start of class.
There are no refunds once the class session has started.

This class is open to all aged 13 years old and up.

Wednesdays from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm starting on September 3 – October 22, 2025
