Hand-Sculpted Flowers in Cold Porcelain
In this immersive two-day workshop, you will explore the delicate art of sculpting flowers from cold porcelain clay. Guided by artist Pooja, you’ll learn to shape graceful petals and leaves while discovering how to bring a sense of vitality and expression into every detail. Each bloom you create will reflect not only botanical beauty but also your own artistic voice.
For Pooja, flower-making is a joyful practice—one that celebrates both artistry and play. She began her journey in 2019, captivated by the elegance of sugar flowers adorning wedding cakes. Entirely self-taught, she later transitioned to working with air-dry polymer clay, a medium that allows her creations to be both lasting and luminous.
Pooja has been teaching for over five years, sharing her craft at esteemed institutions including the New York Botanical Garden, The Art School at Old Church, the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, the YMCA, and numerous cultural spaces across the state. Her workshops invite participants to slow down, engage their senses, and delight in the timeless beauty of handmade flowers.
Participants are asked to bring a rolling pin, ball tools, small sharp embroidery/cuticle scissors, or craft knife.
And a photo box or shoe box to carry flowers home is helpful as well.
