In this 2.5-hour beginner workshop, you’ll create your own fully functional teapot from slabs of clay under the guidance of our esteemed instructor, Mickie Gilbert.
Mickie will begin by demonstrating how to wedge and prepare the clay, showing you how to transform a simple block into smooth slabs ready for building. She’ll also guide you through rolling textures and patterns into the clay, creating surfaces that will beautifully catch and highlight the glaze once the piece is fired.
Next, you’ll use pre-prepared templates to cut out the components of your teapot. With Mickie’s step-by-step guidance, you’ll assemble the pieces—walls, base, lid, spout, and handle—bringing them together into a cohesive and elegant form.
