Designed especially for teens, this 2-hour class offers an introduction to the delicate art of sgraffito as students create their own stoneware clay tiles.
Students will begin by painting their tiles with underglazes, then select an image to trace onto the surface. Images may be brought from home or chosen from those provided by the instructor. Once the design is transferred, students will use the sgraffito technique to carefully carve through the underglaze, revealing the clay beneath and creating a simple, graphic illustration.
All materials—including clay, underglazes, and tools—are provided.
Each participant will create 1-2 tiles depending on how detailed the illustration is.
What to Bring:
One or two images from home (illustrations work better than photographs)
An open heart and a willingness to play

Cancellation policy: a 50% refund will be given up to the day before the class. There will be no refunds given on the day of the class.
