Sculpting Seated Animals with Tyree Dworak Jan 24, 2026

$200.00

In this hands-on workshop, students will learn the skills to create a seated animal from clay. From creating a hollow form to adding texture and color, Tyree will demonstrate basic construction techniques as well as a few tricks she has developed along the way.

In the morning, students will sculpt a small seated mammal. Through a brief practice period, they will learn about how to position the animal to create gesture and expression so that each animal tells its own unique story.

During the second half of the day, Tyree will demonstrate how to add slip to create fur and add underglazes for color and interest. This workshop will teach important skills that can be used over and over for hand-building.

Students will be supplied with 3lbs of clay, slips etc.
Feel free to bring your own tools or use the studio tools.

What to Bring:

  • Reference photos of animals

  • An open heart and willingness to play

  • All supplies included

*** In this class, you will leave with a piece of greenware that will require finishing, glazing and firing. Glazing and firing are not included in this workshop. ***
